Description

This is an oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pump used to generate rough (backing) vacuum in industrial and laboratory vacuum systems. Rotating vanes inside an eccentric housing draw in and expel gas while oil provides lubrication and sealing between the vanes and housing, allowing the pump to reach sub-atmospheric pressures. Pumps of this type are commonly used standalone or as backing pumps ahead of a turbomolecular or diffusion pump.
