Description

This is a pulse firing/trigger board used to generate the gate-firing pulses for thyristor-based power converters, synchronizing the firing angle of each thyristor with the AC line to control the converter output voltage or current. Boards like this are a critical control component inside ABB/BBC Metrawatt drive and rectifier systems and are commonly kept as spares because a failed firing board can halt an entire converter.
